The Porsches are ear bleedingly loud in person.
Also, the Covettes, when running together make the stands shake.
EDIT: There’s supposed to be pictures to go along with this post, but I guess the wifi doesn’t like me. I’ll upload pics sometime around Monday, probably.

It doesn’t seem to matter what sub-category of racing 911 it is either. All Porsche race cars are crazy stupid loud.

While on the topic of sound watching Goodwood this morning reminded me what F1 used to sound like and now I’m sad. That 1990 Ferrari F1 car had the most glorious sound.

The GT3 911s I saw at Like Rock in 2013 didn’t seem that loud. Though they were on track with GTR GT3s which can deafen you from the other end of the track.

Yeah the new RSRs were definitely the best sounding cars at Le Mans! But ears protection needed...
